Planets (and other heavenly bodies) Part 2
In this post, I will discuss the rest of the Planets as they relate to (tropical) natal astrology. If you missed the first half of the discussion, please do go back and read the first half . It is helpful to have a natal chart of your own, which you can make for free at Astro.com .
Jupiter is the natural ruler of Sagittarius and often considered the co-ruler of Pisces. It represents expansion, good fortune and prosperity. Positive expressions of Jupiter are idealism, faithfulness, philanthropy, understanding and reverence. Negative expressions of Jupiter are impracticality, fanaticism, extravagance, indulgence and bigotry.
Saturn is the natural ruler of Capricorn and represents restrictions and boundaries. Positive expressions of Saturn are patience, self-discipline, humility, diplomacy and respect. Negative expressions of Saturn are fearfulness, suppression, sensitivity, pessimism and rigidity.
Uranus is the natural ruler of Aquarius and represents the unconventional (and - quite often - genius). Positive expressions of Uranus are progressiveness, non-conformity, inventiveness, spiritedness, individuality. Negative expressions of Uranus are radicalness, rebelliousness, erractic-ness, eccentricity, detachment and combativeness.
Neptune is the natural ruler of Pisces and represents idealism every bit as much as it represents illusion. Positive expressions of Neptune are mysticism, sympathy, visionary, devotion, creativeness and understanding. Negative expressions of Neptune are dreaminess, self-indulgence, delusion, living in fantasy, chaos and self-martyrdom.
Pluto is the natural ruler of Scorpio and represents transformation and renewal. Positive expressions of Pluto are consecration, rebirth, transformation, construction, submission, transmutation, wisdom, illumination and willingness. Negative expressions of Pluto are desecration, death, annihilation, tribulation, destruction, intensity, force, struggle and obsession.
In the next installment, I will discuss the Houses as they relate to natal astrology, including the Ascendant (sometimes called “the rising”) and angular houses.
On Monday, I will show you how to read a natal chart, so please stay tuned!
